Bones Emma Dodd Commended An interesting shadow thrown due to the spotlighting. This light ensures good
contrast.
The bottom right hand corner could be cloned out or controlled to remove the out of
focus highlight.
Tran Tran Jim Cawkwell 3rd Place A striking street portrait, possibly better in colour but good contrast in the tones. The
top left ‘wing tip’ is not in the frame which is a pity and I find the nike tick on the
trainer kills the illusion of the outfit so I would recommend cropping that out.
Blacksmith Sylvia 2nd Place The lowlight emphasises the furnace flames and causes the blur of movement in the
blacksmith which shows he is working. The array of tools along the wall adds
authenticity to the scene.
Night At The Museum Emma Dodd 1st Place An excellent shot, great viewpoint giving layers of interest. Each layer is populated
but Lowry style figures. Great depth too.

Claire Keith Dawson Commended A great expression captured in this street portrait. Good fun. Mono conversion has
been well handled.
Arches Lu Dunne Commended Love the diagonal lines of natural light here and the receding line of unlit globe lights
giving repetition of shape along with the arches. Perhaps a more patient
photographer may have waited for a figure to appear at the end of the tunnel but a
good image all the same.
Lobos Keith Dawson 3rd Place A dark, foreboding landscape with impact. Good traditional composition works well.
Beep-Beep Daz 2nd Place This unusual street scene has great appeal. The evening light has given a soft feel to
the image. The small car sitting in a small space framed by the pavement shape on
the right and the motorbike on the left. The second motorbike could be cropped out
as I don’t feel it adds to the interest but it’s a great cameo shot.
Burned Forest Ed Tjujeman 1st Place A stunning scene with great mono tones. The dark, burned trunks close to the
camera give impact with the recessional tones through from mid ground to
background lead the eye through to the distance and help to tell the story.

Contemplation Paul Armitage Commended Great character study using light and shadow to emphasise the face and beard.
Some post processing work has been done around the hat to help it stand out from
the background.aul Armitage Commended
February Weather Duncan Gray Commended The title says it all. The weather conditions make this image along with the high
viewpoint so that we look over the tree tops to the scenery behind. Great
atmosphere and has the appearance and feel of film.
Lightbulb Moment Steve Goldsmith Commended Very cleverly produced image which is ostensibly a portrait but dropped into the light
bulb to give an edge and a storyline.
Our House Keith Vincent 3rd Place Great composition to this landscape. Horizontal layers of sand, sea and clouds with
mirroring shapes.
Good impact given with contrasty tones.
Screw City Richard Holmes 2nd Place A very well thought out and executed table top photograph. The arrangement is
clean and precise and the reflection is superb. The back surround sets it off and the
lighting and post processing have been handled very well indeed.ace
Hofner Keith Vincent 1st Place A terrific portrait with the focus firmly placed on the headstock of the bass guitar and
fingers of the left hand. Your eye follows the guitar neck along to the right hand and
up to the face and all important hat via the dark framed glasses hooked into the neck
of his white T shirt. The depth of field has been carefully chosen to give the desired
affect with a slightly soft focus on the face. The background ‘donuts’ add to the atmosphere of the shot.e
